Rochelle Ballard is a legend- straight up.

This Kauai born and raised badass has been a Queen of wave riding for decades, traveling the globe as a professional surfer, competing at the highest level of surf competitions with stacks of wins under her belt.  Beyond her incredible performances durning competition, it was Rochelle's beautiful defiance of the ideas of how a "girl" could surf that at the time that she was making a MAJOR statement with through her sharp barrel riding, aggressive cut-backs and the fearless launching of herself over monster waves that men were holding back on.

Throughout those competitive chapters of her profession as a surfer, she was simultaneously connecting with another passion of her's that was complementing not only her surfing talents but her overall wellbeing- Yoga. Rochelles love for yoga drove her to eventually become certified as a Yogi gernating her own unique style that integrates movements that are found within nature- like that of the Ocean.

Upon getting deeper into her practice and teachings, Rochelle's passions for all that makes up her inspiring lifestyle enriched with wellness : Movement, the Ocean/Nature, Community and Connection with likeminded individuals in pursuit of living from their fullest selves, would inevitably create her retreat business, "Surf into Yoga."  A retreat that is far from any commercial concept and instead gives her guests a rare, up close and personal experience of what it feels like to live a healthy, action infused, nature immersed, and an opportunity to feel  Kauai's one-of-a-kind "mana" (spirit) through the life of an original local.  It's an experience that truly leaves her guests feeling renewed with a deeper connection within themselves and to our beautiful earth.

There is so much to say about the layers that make this incredible, empowering and endlessly inspiring woman, the incredible human that she is but I'll leave the rest for our upcoming podcast (stay tuned for that gem) and in the meantime, get a closer look into her powerful mindset in the Q+A below.
